Todays Valley Times in the tri valley area has an article on feral pigs threatening endangered plants in the Solano Land Trust area. Talks about a couple of guys that volunteer to hunt the area to help keep the population down without having to pay for "professional" hunters to come in. Front page article. Good reading I guess considering the usual bs that is on the front page.

Talked with the biologist over the Joice Island hunt a couple of years ago and he said the JI hunt wasn't as good as it was before the Rush Ranch started shooting the pigs on their 2000 acres. They are still there but pressured pretty hard. The guy in the article has taken 150 in 18 months and gets to keep the meat. Sounds like a deal to me.
