Alpen Optics introduces the new Teton™ 8.5x50 (#85) and 10x50 (#89) high performance binoculars for 2008. The Teton series meets the demand for a top performance optical instrument head on in a lightweight yet durable body design that won’t break your bank account. Teton uses the same superior eye lens system of Alpen’s top performance Rainier™ binoculars combined with the prism and body system of the popular Apex™ binocular series resulting in an incredibly sharp and bright optical experience in a lighter weight, field tough body. And with these new 50mm large lens models you can continue to view even in the darkest shadows during dawn and dusk.
Teton achieves this hybrid performance by featuring BaK4 prisms, fully multi-coated, SHR™ metallic and PXA™ phase correction coated optics. The optical system is treated with over 40 layers of these high performance coatings. The result is not only a super bright image, but also an image that has full color fidelity and exquisite sharpness in full and low light viewing conditions.
The composite body design is covered by an extremely durable yet comfortable textured rubber material that will provide years of shock resistant viewing enjoyment. Twist-lock eye cups and long eye relief optical design provide full viewing comfort even when wearing eye or sun glasses. Of course, Teton is fully O-ring sealed and nitrogen filled for the security of waterproof, fog free viewing in the harshest of outdoor conditions.
