Welcome aboard Okie... I live in Cali and I won't be much help to you but I would strongly suggest you post your question in the Elk forum and the deer forums. They see more traffic than this forum and I know there are some Oregonians that frequent those forums. Don't expect to get someones honey hole but they might be able to get you in a general area.

Good luck.

Okie, Point you rig east. The best elk bowhunting in the state is in the Ochoco Mtns and Blue Mtns. Start building up pref points for the Chesnimnus and Sled Springs units. Head west and hunt the Cascade Crest or just over on the west side in the wilderness/national forest areas. Rugged, steep country with thick timber.

Your close enough to start scouting once the snows melt a bit. Try cozying up to some ranchers in the Crooked River drainage. Access is almost impossible, but golden when you can get it.
