Yeah, that's new. I don't hunt the ranch but I registered/signed up anyway. Looks like guided hunts only so far. $1,000 and up (even for coyote/bobcat hunt) is way too expensive for me.

Yeah, I predicted this. They have eliminated all the unguided hunting opportunities apparently. $1100 for a pig?!? Kind of funny that it was one of their guides that caused the "problem" that suspended their hunting program yet they eliminate the unguided hunting when the unguided hunters had nothing to do with the "problem".

Lets hope this is only temporary. Kelly the number of hogs we saw in January means they have to have a management program. The only alternative is to pay for removal...

Just had a very long conversation with Jodi Bonas. Very sad day yes all unguided hunts are done on the ranch except the management hunts. They will be very limited and carefully watched. Also all atv's, sidebyside's of all kinds are now banned on the ranch. Reason for all of this is said to be that tejon is a publicly traded company and that there is just too much liability out there with us roaming freely! Pretty much the worst day I've had in awhile! I was up there almost every weekend.

Just so I'm clear, the spring and fall permits are gone then kcravnit?

The unguided hunters also caused problems. From the father and son who blasted the condors to the guys sneaking out hogs on their annual permits and not tagging and reporting the hogs. We had a couple in our group hunts that were not invited back. Plenty of blame to go round really and they know who they are.

Spring and fall are gone as per Jodi bonus! I'm sure that they had there mishaps but to close the ranch down to all? What a bummer that was my get away spot, no work Friday= jumpin into the truck and heading out to tejon for some sight seeing!

Are they joking!!! $1000 to hunt coyotes,$1400 to shoot a turkey!!! maybe their pricing the hunts high so the hunting on the ranch will bring in so few Dollars that it isn't feesable anymore to hunt and then shut down hunting all together....

So if we want to continue the JHO hunts on Tejon we'll just have to invade the management hunts. How much for the Ham Slams now on Tejon?

Tried to get on the new Tejon site this morning. It appears to be down for the time being.

Pig hunts are $1100 or $900 ea for 2 people.
Turkey hunts are $1400. Yep, that's $1400.00 for ONE turkey.

Sorry, but someone over there needs their butt kicked out the door. Those prices are absolutely unreasonable.

Honestly who cares. I was thinking of getting in on one of the JHO pig hunts but at those prices for semi guided hunts I can buy TWO GUIDED HUNTS in Paso Robles.

The turkey hunt price is so ridiculous that words just cannot describe the lack of mental comprehension of whomever thinks that hunters will pay it in a down economy let alone a good economy. $1400 for a SEMI GUIDED turkey hunt...Good Lord.

All we can do is not buy into their hunt pricing and hope that they see the way the wind is blowing. It's either that or they need to change their ranch slogan from "preserving our history" to "preserving our history so that only the rich and well connected can enjoy it."
