"offhand" can mean a number of things, depending on what you're doing or how you use the term. If shooting with a firearm it can mean shooting with your non-dominant hand, or shooting without a rest. For me and my bow hunting friends, we use the term similar to rifle shooting without a rest, meaning, if we have to shooting quickly, without our usual stance and anchor - kind of "off-form". I've found that us long-time bow hunters have more than a few slang terms that may not mean the same thing (or mean anything) to firearm shooters. I had another "discussion" with another forum member about "kinetic energy", and you could tell that he was a beginning bow hunter, because his reference point(s) where based in firearms - which made his dialog about kinetic energy in bow hunting baseless and irrelevant. Good luck in your hunting.
