I shoot 22lr with subsonic ammunition with a silencer mainly for rabbits.   I have always had difficulty in estimating ranges over 80 yds with any accurcy.  This is essential for low velocity ammo due to the trajectory.  I have always used a mill dot scope and have found that with a zero of 55 yds the mill dots work out exactly to 70 yds being 0.5 and 80 is 1 90 is 1.5 and so on up until 160 where I hit the main post.

This is nothing new I know but since having bought the Newcon range finder I can now reliably hit golf balls up to 130 yds and small potatoes up to 160.  I shot last night and had a dozen rabbits for 15 shots and the longest shot was 157 yds.  I could not have achieved this with ought the range finder.

I have never had a LRF before so cannot compare it to any other.  My experience so for is very positive.  It is light weight and very consistent and the only negative I could comment on is the quality of the optics.  Although ok in bright conditions they suffer when the light starts to fade and appear quite dark.  I would also question the 7 X magnification they are advertised at as the bunny’s look very small at the longer ranges.

They have certainly taken my shooting to a new level and I don’t regret buying them.

He tried and succeeded with all handguns but we are hanging in there with rifles, which can be semi auto in .22 but single shot in all other calibres.
