This bull has turned into a 8x8 from earlier 7x8 pics. His main beam has forked. Some stripped velvet has been found so his horns are getting hard.

Nice bull! He looks like he already has a built in aim point on his left side.

Nice rack for sure...that bull's got everything he could ever want right in the pic! ...some feed, a little salt, some water near by. Georgeous antlers.

Hard to believe but this elk has never touched any feed or salt. Only comes in for water. Does anyone have a similar experience or is this normal?

not that i don't think seeing pics of a creature that beautiful is awesome and all.........but, don't the F&G state that it is illegal to "knowingly feed big game"?........make sure you don't post where or who's property it is(not that many wardens come on here frequently)

Actually having the elk not hit the salt blocks is not that strange. If they are getting all the minerals they need from their feed then they will not have a desire to use a salt block. The elk I have been trying to trap have no interest in the salt block I put out for them along with the other bait.

I was always told that deer wouldn't lick a salt block, but bust it up and put it on the ground or put it in a gunny sack and hang it in a tree where the rain would leach it out onto the ground and they would lick the ground all the way to china. Just what I've heard.

that is not always correct, deer will lick up a salt lick like crazy if they find it. i have seen it. but i know guys back east will put it on the ground for a lick and the deer love that as well.
