How does the Nikon Buckmasters compare with the VX-I. I have a 4-12x40 VX-I, but im looking into maybe purchasing Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40SF for a good deal. I like this magnification range better, if anyone has input on these scopes that would be big help.

My choice would be the VX-I but im sure others will disagree. Leupold has a lifetime warranty and fast turn around times. Nikon has a limited lifetime warranty and very slow turn around times from my experiences.

A far as the optics themselves go, take each out around dark if you can and see which one is brighter/clearer. Try to avoid the comparison during the middle of the day as i have taken some pretty low end bushnell stuff out against some very high end leupold (VX-III) and the bushnell will look brighter during the middle of the day. but in low light, there is no comparison.
