I live in Ohio so I dont have to shoot copper. But my 870 shoots 2 inch groupes at 100 yards with the rem copper solid. And they only drop 2 inches between 50 and 100 yards out of my gun. So at 100 yards I dont have to hold over. IMO the performance is better than any lead bullet I have ever shot. In accuracy, bullet drop and hard hitting. I have not tried the Barnes slugs or the XP3 so I cant compare them. But after 26 years of hunting deer with a slug gun I am impressed with the copper solid out of my gun.

My Mossberg 935 and a rifled barrel also shoot the 3" Rem solids and Fed./Barnes sabots to the same POI. The Win's don't group as well for me. The auto loader takes a lot of the sting out of these rounds.

Copper slugs that I am aware of:

Remington Copper Solids - about $16 to $18 a box depending on load and where you get them - ($3.20 - $3.60 a round)

Federal Barnes Expanders - about $14 to $18 a box depending on load and where you get them - ($2.80 - $3.60 a round)

Winchester Supreme XP3 - about $15 to $19 a box depending on where you get them - ($3 to $3.80 a round)

Ka-ching!!! I figure it would probably take $70 to $90 to get sighted in and do a little practice.
+1 I had a problem with my scope needed to be shimmed which added up to double this estimate. Your mileage may very
My shotgun liked the barnes tipped the best. the other thing was not being able to get the xp3's as easily as the other brands. other brands were fairly easily found and bought over the counter. The xp3's were mail ordered. One other thing 2 3/4 are plenty enough power 3 and 3 1/2 are not fun to sight in or shoot
Lt Dan do you still have the left over case of XP3's you were trying to get rid of.
