Anyone have any suggestions where to go for coyotes and jack rabbits or squirrels in northern Nevada around Pershing or Douglas counties? I think it's great you don't even need a hunting license for varmints in Nevada.
Thanks

Rocketman,

I am not sure about good places to go in Douglas Co. but I would think east of Minden would be good or east of Topaz Lake in the Toiyabe NF.  I'm not sure about Pershing either.  I do know that if you went further north to Washoe Co. there are a bunch up there.  I haven't hunted them yet but a friend of mine worked for BLM out of Cedarville last year and said that he always took off into NV and hunted Coyotes.  East of Cedarville is all dirt roads and mostly BLM.  There are lots of jackrabbits too.

I would suggest east of Cedarville also.  There is a lot of country and a lot of coyotes.  If you have a california license, you might ask around in Surprise Valley and get permission to hunt coyotes on a ranch.  I know the area around Fort Bidwell has a coyote problem.
