NOVEMBER WYOMING WILDLIFE DEDICATED TO WOLVES
CHEYENNE

Wolves are here and the controversial species has expanded its range all the way into the November issue of Wyoming Wildlife magazine.

Thirty-seven pages of the issue are dedicated to the gray wolf. "With the rhetoric on all sides of the issue cooling down, we thought this would be a good time to take a comprehensive look at the gray wolf," said Chris Madson, Wyoming Wildlife editor.

The issue features the views of four private citizens on the advent of wolves in Wyoming. Representing the "pro side" are Lander hunter Dave Glen and Sierra Club president Steve Thomas. Afton outfitter Maury Jones and sheep producer Jim Magagna offer the "con" perspective on the issue.

The magazine addresses the history of wolves in Wyoming and the West, potential impact of wolves on big game in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, and ongoing experience and research on the species in Alaska, Canada and northern Minnesota. The status of public opinion about the species is also presented, along with Wyoming Gray Wolf Management Plan.

The November issue is currently available at newsstands and bookstores. Subscriptions to the monthly publication can be purchased by calling (800) 710-8345.
