Anyone care to report on how everything is out there? Traffic, hunting pressure, new regs..... anything?

Hi Uncle-
About the same overall. Hunting traffic was about the same. Friday was busy with everyone getting registered from what I heard. I checked in on Saturday
and mostly the same for the most part. It was very hot and dry and hard hunting. Stil some water in creeks etc. Many folks showed up to hunt and was not aware of the process and ended going home. There is still tents set up in many areas and equipment everywhere so it looked like it was very busy over the past weeks. Mikght have sent the game into the next county! LOL! Hope this helps?

It does, thanks!

I think I'll wait a bit for things to settle down before I plan my next trip.

What areas looked to have had the highest activity during the closure? Did you see any fresh pig sign at all?

It was hot hot hot, the rattlers were out hiding in the grass on the roads, wild life everywhere, elk, deer, coyotes, and alot of gobblers. there is still water so thats where you need to be.
mail in your reg form with black and white photo copy of DL. SSN written on form is a must, even though there is no spot requesting it. It's a 10 day turn around. If you try to bring your guns in without reg. you will be denied access at the gaurd gate.
I was there last weekend, If you have any questions I will do my best to answer. If I dont know..thats what I will tell you.

Hard to say which areas had the most training. I saw tents and equipment all over. Area 27, area 2 and 1 and a few others. Not a lot of fresh pig sign mostly older and not rained on. Turkey in 6a though. Hope this helps.
