The t.v. show "Insomniac" (comedy central) last night featured Nutria hunting by vector control officers in a southern state.  Pretty cool varmint hunting.  Those Nutrias must have weighed in at almost 10 lbs.
In true Los Angeles drive-by style, the officers were set up in the bed of a pickup and cruised the canals looking for the rodents.
A spotter rode the cab roof and the shooter had a nice low chair in the bed.  Weapon was a .22mag-bolt action with a suppressor and scope.  Backup rifle was a Ruger 10/22 with scope.

Watched the same show and couldnt stop laughing. That was the first show that I have seen other than the hunting shows where animals were killed. They even showed the nutria getting shot which is something lacking on even some hunting shows. Those snipers have a pretty fun job sometimes.

Hey I happened to catch that show too.

I thought it was pretty cool. Only thing missing was the six pack of beer......

Just kidding. It did seem like a pretty cool job though.
