Hey fellers and gals,,,i was out checking on things yesterday out at my place and took another look at how the rubbin logs are doin',,,

I put several of these creosote rubbin' logs around for the hogs to rub on,,,so they'll stay around for us to hunt and trap 'em,,,

Here's a photo of what they'r looking like these days,,i sure like those rubbin' logs!,,,about as good as a corn feeder for keeping hogs around where u want 'em.

What a hoot!,,,lol,,

Jim - you got any idea why those things work? Is it the creosote? Why don't they just rub on regular trees? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hey there,,,what i'm understanding is that hogs use creosote and oily, greasy stuff as a protectant against insects, bugs, and parasites,,,

Also, hogs have no sweat glands,,so there may be some anatomy relationship there, too,,,dunno for sure about that though?

But, mostly, what i've heard is that hogs use the creosote as a hide protectant,,,

People around this part of the country began noticing this when hog rubbin's and wallows around creosoted telephone poles were found...

Kinda interesting stuff,,,huh?,,

Here's another photo of another spot on my place where those big ol ugly texas hogs are hangin' out,,lol,,
