Arrived at Tejon with my sons and father-in-law Friday night at about 5:30. Slight wind but nice and overcast. Left his motorhome at the campground and then drove some roads looking for a nice place to hog hunt in the morning. At about 7:00 pm we were headed back to camp for dinner. Before we reached camp, I stopped the car to glass one more time. Noticed some small dots on a far hillside. Set my rifle on the ground and cranked up the power on my scope(6.5 x 20 power). Yes!!! Quite a few hogs working their way down the hill. Drove my car on a dirt road towards the hogs. Parked, and walked a few hundred yards to the top of a canyon. I heard numerous pigs in the canyon and they were getting closer. I let a few walk 40 yards or so right past me. Saw a nice sized spotted one staring right at me. I raised my rifle and fired. One less pig roaming around. Seemed quite heavy but was probably closer to 180 lbs or so. My fahter-in-law said it was closer to 200 lbs. Who cares? It was my first one and I was quite happy. And I am sure it is going to be delicious. Turns out my father-in-law didn't bring my BIG cooler but that was a brother-in-laws' fault. So we had to leave first thing this morning in order to keep that pig cool. So my Tejon weekend trip was cut quite short but it was very productive. And I am going to learn how to post the picture as soon as I can figure out how to do it. I took pictures with a digital camera but I seriously do not speak computer. Saw quite a few deer even a couple of bucks and a handful of turkeys. I love this place!!!!
