hey folks, new to board. hope to meet great folks. looking to purchase new bino's and scope for this year. a few bino choices, nikon monarch atb 8x42($214), pentax dcfwp 8x42($269), pentax dcfsp 8x43(389), can aford all but looking for best value. scopes for 7mag tc encore, bushnell elite with fire fly, 3200 3-9x50 30mm tube($360), elite 4200 ff 2.5-10x40($360), nikon monarch gold 1.5-6x42 and 2.5-10x50. scopes for tc encore muzzle209x50, bushnell elite 3200 1.5-4.5x32($170), nikon monarch 4x40(240), aim point red dot 7000sc 2x($350). trust me I know it's alot to consider, your help would be great!!!!

I think either of those Pentax binos will probably have better glass than the Nikons. If you can afford the higher end ones get those. Don't know anything about scopes unfortunately.

well sdb went with the monarch 8x42 from dnr. on the way as we speak. the just felt the best 2 me. im sure not same quality but for me will do fine. and better warranty makes me feel more comfortable. will let u know how they r. thanks.

You want be disapointed with the Nikon's. I've looked thru both the Nikon's and Pentax's. I think the Nikon's are brighter and clearer.

hey bishop thanks.. nikon's delivered by dnr ( they did a great job). got to use them this w/e. realt bright and crisp, was amazed in the am with picture quality. they just seamed to fit the best in my hands and have a better warranty. I am realy happy with decision

As far as scopes are concern I have been very happy with my 4X40MM Nikon Monarch rifle scope that has fully coated lenses which the Luepolds 4X (M8) scopes do not. For good value fixed power scopes cann't be beat. They are lighter in weight and brighter than varibles costing many times as much.

thanks losthwy, I finally went with the 1.5-4.5x32 bushnell 3200 firefly for my muzzle and the 2.5-10x40 bush 4200 firefly for 7mag. will update all with thoughs. also, monarch binos so far are great, maybe ignorance is bliss, but it still is bliss to me
