I just don't understand this state at times.
Does common sense matter anymore.
We haven't been able to use dogs to hunt cats for 12 years now. Where once the hunting public paid the state to hunt with dogs. Now we are taking sportsman's dollars to the tune of $589,420 for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to do the job that state hunters were doing for free, or in fact paying to do.
With over 1/2 million dollars going to this, I wonder how much my tags and license will go up next year. They have sky-rocketed in the past couple of years.
The decline rate of people not hunting in Oregon is 2nd in the nation. Oregon's general fund pulls from Sportsman's dollars derived from tags and license fees. With that number going down, the only thing they can do is raise my license and app fees. And now 1/2 million going to the FEDS to hunt Cougars.
Where does common sense come into play. In politics. IT DOESN'T.
