Since I'm starting to collect preference points for Big Game in Oregon, what am I going to do with the license since I probably won't draw a deer or Elk tag for a few years?

...hunt Turkey.

I've heard there's some good hunting around Troy also in Southern OR.  I'm more interested in Southern OR than up around Troy since I am living in CA.

Anyone have any general public areas in S. Oregon that they're willing to share info on?

Thanks,

Bill

You might check around the Roseburg area for public hunting area's. Very large consentration of birds there.
You could try Oregons Dept of Fish & Wildlife on there website. I hunt in NE Oregon on public ground!!!

Thanks for the advice.  I called up Oregon's DFG and they were pretty helpful about the lands around Roseburg/Medford.  Apparently, public lands get pressured but what's new.  Boise Cascade lands are open to the public for hunting according to the biologist I talked to so that opens up more ground as well.
