OTC Tags

Ok need some help, we didnt get drawn for montana goats so i want to put together a last minute trip out west someplace. Looking at like Mule deer, Elk, Bear, something like that to hunt. This is DIY so we need OTC tags and public land, or tresspass hunts if they are within price range. Not trophy hunting by any means, just doing something different. Either gun or bow doesnt matter. We are coming from MN so any help would be great. Thanks

colorado for elk near durango might be able to still get 2 tags per person bull and cow you can get bear as well.

Idaho has lots of OTC. If you hunt the Middle fork zone you can hunt elk,deer,and bear on the same hunt.It's also a 2 bear limit area.The bear tags are cheap at about $32 a tag for non-residents. Lots of bears.The elk is either sex and the dear are bucks only and it's an any weapons hunt.90% of the area is national forest so there's plenty of room.good luck

colorado would be your best bet for elk, deer is all draw. Archery is best, rifle season is a circus! Idaho has otc deer and elk but their non res tags have a quota, you gotta check idfg web site for remaining tags. Another idea would be checking with wyoming on their left over antelope tags, they usually have lots of tags available.
