The annual Hardware Ranch Elk Festival is Saturday, Oct. 9, at the state wildlife management area in Blacksmith Fork Canyon east of Cache Valley. The festival is sponsored by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, which manages the property, and is free. Activities run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include wagon rides, painting pumpkins, making balloon antlers and shooting pellet guns.
