Fishing tackle and other outdoors equipment will be given away July 13 at the 8th Stan Golightly Memorial Fishing Derby at Dennis Sporting Goods in Fenton.
Registration begins at the store at 5 a.m. Participants can fish anywhere they want. People who don't fish can register for the attendance prizes.
Anglers who catch the largest fish in three age-groups will win the top prizes.For more information call 636-343-8051.
Cody Hillyard of Collinsville, Ill., and Jimmie Baity of East St. Louis caught tagged fish and won $1,000 each in Anheuser-Busch's "Catch Big Jake" national fishing contest.
In the contest 110 fish, mostly bass, were tagged and placed in 55 water bodies. The contest ran May 3-June 3. Hillyard and Baity caught their largemouth in Carlyle Lake. The promotion benefits the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
