Outdoor Writers to Offer Free Half-Day Workshop June 21


Aspiring outdoor communicators welcome to attend free seminars

MISSOULA, Montana - The Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA) will kick off its 81st annual conference by offering a free, half-day workshop titled "How to Become an Outdoor Communicator," Saturday, June 21, from 8 a.m. - noon, at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck, N.D.

Workshop subjects will include: Outdoor Opportunities in Newspapers, Outdoor Photography, Women in the Hook and Bullet World, Working with State and Federal Agencies, Outdoor Radio Shows, Outdoor Travel Writing, Working with Magazines, Outdoor Books for Fun and Profit, Outdoor Jobs You Never Thought About, Outdoor Opportunities in Television, and OWAA and the Outdoor Communicator

Workshop presenters include seasoned OWAA members Jack Ballard (Freelance author/photographer/
book author); Tony Dean (Syndicated radio, "Dakota Backroads"); Lisa Densmore (Emmy-winning TV host/producer, book author); Tony Dolle (Sporting dog columnist, boating writer, freelancer, photographer); Mark Freeman (Staff writer/columnist, Mail Tribune, Medford, Ore.); Michael Furtman (Book author, freelancer, photographer, scriptwriter); Ann Hirsch (Freelancer, radio-show host); Chris Madson (Editor, Wyoming Wildlife); Joel Vance (Columnist, Gun Dog, North American Fisherman, Outdoor Guide); Pat Wray (Freelance writer, photographer, book author); and
Risa Wyatt (Freelancer, ski and travel markets).
