Well, as long as my truck is out of the shop @ 10 as planned, I should be on the road just on schedule around 10 or 11 this a.m.--should be close to the NM border late tonight, nap and into the Chama area around noon or 1 tomorrow just in time for the afternoon hunt~!

Hopefully OneClearShot or I will have not only some meat for the freezer but also a good story or two from our archery elk hunt in Northern NM~!

I am on a supply run...been stalking this bull that, well, doesn't like the daylight yet. We've been waiting for the moon to disappear due to the elk's (all of them for that matter) ability to stay in the trees until around 2200...a little past shooting hours. So far they haven't started talking yet.

Heading back up today and trying to find a way to bag this pig without heading into this MONSTER canyon where the water source resides...can you say cliff?

Sounds like you're on a good one Eric~! ....hey, maybe you could parasail off the cliff and tag 'em on the way down--would be similar to a treestand shot. If you miss tho, you might land on an angry bull and be in for more than an 8 second ride.

Hopefully, I'll see that "I bagged a big bull" grin when I see you @ the grocery store parking lot in Chama around 13:00 on Sunday.

Hey Brent, how you doin' buddy? I been wonderin' where you've been and what you've been up to, that's kept you off the airwaves! Gettin' settled in them new "Digs" are ya'? Movin's always a bit of a pain, but well worth it once you get settled and can hang yer' hat! Bill called me here at work while I was eating lunch, to say he was on the road and would meet me tonight, across the river from Needles, on the Ariz. side, where we'll gas up and go, straight across the State to New Mexico and then 7 days of, hopefully...."Elk Heaven" "I Like It..."I LIKE IT" When we get back, I'll give you that scouting report like I promised and hopefully some meat along with it! Are you and Joe goin' on the AZ Jave/Coues hunt again this Jan., that Mike and Jeff are cookin' up? I hope so, cause' we didn't get much of a chance to sit around the campfire at the "Slam" and we need some time to just sit and Jaw and Lie about the important things! Anyway, to all the rest of you guys..."midbrook" and I'll be off the air for a week, but we hope to have some good stories to pass on when we return and some tips on future hunt prospects for all of you, if this area pans out like we hope it will!
