It seems I can not get the photo quailty. I tried scanning the pic and had to resize it. I think my scanner s@@ks! But then again Iam not to good with this computer stuff.
Thanks for the comments guys. Dont get me wrong I was more than happy just to get the tag and to fill that tag was the icing on the cake. But there were some really nice bulls in the herd that would not cross the DFG boundary (US 395) to enter the hunt zone. We were lucky to fill our tags on the second day with the only two bulls we seen in the hunt area. We scouted the area out a month before and the same bulls were still in there same places across the boundary line.
Dan, You did OK guy. I just got back from there scouting with a buddy of mine who has an archery tag for this season. Those big bulls you talked about are all still there, & still on the wrong side of the highway, one year later! Looks to me like thats where they stay all year. We did find some nice ones though, in the hunt zones, but I think its going to be a tough hunt. But thats cool, thats hunting!
Congrats on your bull, you've got something not too many people have. RFS
Thanks RFS, We talked to the biologist prior to hunt and she said they wanted to change the boundary but they can only vote on changes every two years. Everyone we talk to down there said the same thing those elk dont move. We just got lucky and the two had moved or were there and we never seen them before. You buddy can probaly do alright on an archery tag because you can hunt all the owens valley zones. I put in for that tag this year, but i didnt expect to draw two years in a row. Hell, I might not even draw two years in my life. Hope your buddy gets lucky like we did. Good luck.
