Just wanted to share some pics from my first elk hunt. I was lucky enough to get drawn for the bishop muzzleloader bull tag this year. Hunted very hard for 4 days with several great chances on good bulls just wasn't able to get the herd to clear the bulls most of the time, or I just couldn't get them within range. We bedded this one down with a smaller bull the night before and came out the next morning and started glassing the area over and located them at a little over 1500 yards out I walked out as far as I could and set up and in some sage brush and used the Hoochi Mama cow elk call and got this guy running in on me from over 1000 yards out finally stopped at 30 yards and dropped the hammer he stumbled 25 yards and took a dirt nap. Hard hunt but glad I did my homework and stayed persistent. Cannot wait to do this again.
