Hello all, go easy on me,, this is my first time posting on here. I am one of the few lucky Ca hunters to draw an Owens valley archery tag. I have been doing as much research as I can to try to figure out where to start my scouting, but figured I would see if anyone on here has any info they are willing to share.

I have already talked to the biologist and have a general idea, but any inside info would be appreciated. I am going scouting this weekend and hopefully twice more before the season so I hope too have the area figured out a little more before the season. Any info is appreciated!

Thanks for any help,
Griff

owens valley Elk

Hey Griff, You pulled yourself a mighty fine tag. I was lucky enough to pull that last year and let me tell you it was frikin awesome. I had Bulls all over me and settled for a 6x6 palmaded Bull. If you'd like some info on where to go, PM me and we could chat. I can put you on the Elk....NO PROBLEM

Yep, great tag.

Scout as much as possible. there are a lot of "good" bulls, but look for the ""Big Frame" bulls....they are bigger class all together. once you have a few located, pattern them and git'r done. I scouted about 4 trips, 3 days each....the last two trips I already had the named and was patterning.....
