So got down to the Ranch about 430pm. Checked out two sections of the property before it got dark. The roads on the property were a nice sandy soup that made it seem like I was driving on a slip in slide. I saw some really good sign all over and that made it a tough decesion on where I wanted to be in the morning. Sort of did the eeny meeny miny mo thing to decide where to go. As we're driving into the property on Sat morning my buddy see's some new fresh rooting that wasnt there the night before. So we got out of the truck and were off. We hunted hard for about 4 1/2 hrs and didnt see any piggys. Both of us were getting hungry so we decided to make our way back to the truck. Started walking along a fence line witch had a dry little creek bottom below us. As were going along talking with our normal voices by this time. I looked across the creek bottom and up on the other side was a redish blondish body in the grass. I turned asked my friend "Is that a dead deer??", he replys "It moved!!". Just as he says the body stood up and I see that its hog that we woke up from sun bathing. My friend says "SHOOT IT!!!!" well he didnt have to tell me twice since I already had a bead on him. I put a 180grain through it's neck and he went right back to sun bathing. Then the fun began since we were still pretty dam far from the truck. Shot him at 10:05 and got him to the truck about noon. It was very well derserved and we worked hard for him.

Nice Hog! I agree with everyone about the nice color. Have you noticed that the general coloring on a lot of the hogs there are more "blond"? Maybe it's a California thing.:smile-yellow:
