Pheasants Forever Television Begins Fifth Season On Outdoor Channel

Saint Paul, Minn. - June 29, 2009 - The premiere upland bird hunting and conservation show on television, Pheasants Forever Television, is back for its fifth season beginning Thursday, July 2nd only on Outdoor Channel. The half-hour show, hosted by popular outdoor personality Ron Schara, is slotted to air on Thursdays at 1AM CDT / 2AM EDT, Fridays at 7:30AM CDT / 8:30AM EDT and on Saturdays at 2AM CDT / 3AM EDT and again at 3:30PM CDT / 4:30PM EDT.

Pheasants Forever Television, produced by Ron Schara Productions, returns fresh off being honored as the best bird hunting show at Outdoor Channel's 9th Annual Golden Moose Awards. Season five does not disappoint, with more of the hunting and conservation stories that viewers have grown to love. Emmy-Award winning Ron Schara teams up with his beloved black Lab Raven to profile the national Pheasants Forever organization, its volunteer members, its habitat projects and of course, plenty of hunting adventures.

"We like to say the ring-necked pheasant is the star of the show, but we also learn that the ringneck plays a valuable role in the lives of many bird hunters," Schara said, "We try to capture that relationship as well as the role of Pheasants Forever in securing the future of conservation."

In the first episode of this season's Pheasants Forever Television, the show ventures to Casselton, North Dakota to hunt with a very special dog. Keith Kemmer's German Wirehaired Pointer, Tess, may not look like she's ready to take to the field, but the story of Tess is one you won't want to judge by its cover. The episode also takes a look at a day in the life at Pheasants Forever's national headquarters, and wraps up with a prescribed burn crew from Bridger Fire.

Pheasants Forever Television's informative tip segments are also back for season five, including Shotgun Savvy with shooting pro Ed Prechel, Habitat Habit brought to you by Carlson's Choke Tubes and Gun Dog Savvy sponsored by Purina. Find more information about Pheasants Forever Television at
