I still have a hell of a time trying to get sharp pics when its cloudy out. These should have come out alot better. All these birds had nice beards and spurs...

OUTSTANDING Dave!!!
<

I hope you don't mind... I did a auto levels and contrast adjustment, increased the color a little with Match Color and sharpened (hopefully not too much). Took about 45 seconds.

Edit again

I did over sharpen, it wouldn't take much to make your great shot even better with a little post processing.

Awesome shot!

Thanks alot Paul -That looks 10x better. I have the trial version of Capture NX - I just have to sit down and learn how to use it. I probably could have made all these pics look alot better if I knew what I was doing.

Dave, they are all great shots... a levels or contrast adjustment usually clears up that cloudy look. Again, I hope you do not mind (if you do, just say so and I wont edit them).

With the walking turkey I just did a manual levels adjustment, it didn't take very much to clear it up. After the levels adjustment I added some more color with Match Color (I like it more that the hue and saturation adjustment).

With the hawk, I did the same and cloned out a few distracting branches... and increased the image size just slightly.

With the flying turkey (my favorite) I did a manual levels adjustment this time (so the snow wouldn't look blown out) and Match Color.

I'll add the other two in separate post.

I don't mind at all Paul -I thank you again. I just ordered a CD ROM of The Photographers Guide to Capture NX by Jason Odell - I will learn it and start using the RAW so you don't have to clean up after me LOL...
