Here is how it went down; Arive at outfitters get set in room then sight in rifles and drive around looking for animals. Next day was day 1 hunting day. My wife shoots the two impalas back to back at 60 yards before lunch. Then she shoots the blue wildebeest at 90 yards after lunch. She was shooting a Rem mod seven youth 7mm08 with a 1.5X5X36 Nikon on top. Ammo was Fed prem with 140 gr barnes TSX. The wildebeest only ran about 90 yards with one good shot to the shoulder. I shot the long horned impala at 218 yards it ran about 70 yards and fell. Shot was just a bit high on the shoulder. I was shooting a Rem 700 ADL 30-06 with a Leupold VXII 3X9X40 on top. Ammo was 165 gr Fed fussion.
Day 2 my wife shoots nothing and spirits were down for her. I shot a red heartebeest at 288 yards it fell in its tracks. Another impala ram at 236 yards and it fell in its tracks also. It was a slight down hill shot with the impala facing me. After lunch I shot the mountain reed buck at 188 yards another bang flop. then just before dark I shot a blue wildebeest that I lost the pic of some how. First shot hit the back side of the shoulder bone and angeled back through the lung and liver. I got another shot in it at the base of the tail that put it down then another in the neck to finish it off.
Day 3 My wife shoots the trophy kudu. It was the only animal we payed a trophy fee for all the other animals were part of the cull package. Oh I did have to pay a extra cull price for my blue wildebeest as a extra animal also. She also shot a mountain reed buck at about 90 yards. I shot a warthog at abot 70 yards then the white bleesbuck ram at 237 yards, both were bang flop shots.
Day 4 my wife shoots a springbuck at 249 yards in very high winds. Her PH told her to hold in its belly and the wind will put the bullet in its shoulder. Bang flop, right in the shoulder. Then she shoots the jakel and the impala uwe after lunch. I shoot a springbuck at 188 yards .
Day 5 we hunt tell lunch but kill nothing. then we move to another camp.
Day 6 my wife shoots two bleesbucks and I get to watch one of her stalks from the top of a big hill. I shot a bleesbuck that was the lead uwe at 156 yards on a fast walk. My PH said take it now its going to bolt. The shot was a bit to far back but broke the spine. I put another shot in its shoulder to finnish it off. After lunch I shot the black wildebeest. Shot hit tight behind the shoulder and exited about 7 inches behind the off side shoulder. It ran about 300 yards then fell.
Day 7 last hunting day. My wife shot the blue balled monkey and me and my PH put on a bow range stalk on a impala uwe. He let me take the lead and we low crawled to 40 yards and I shot her in the neck. We then went to lunch and my wife said to me.( I killed everything I wanted to kill except a warthog and there is none here so you can have my last animal. ) So her and her PH stayed at camp and drank beer while me and my ph went out and found another blessbuck that needed culled. A !56 yard bang flop shot. Bullet hit in the neck and came out the off side shoulder. Bullet must have done some funny stuff because the bleesbuck was perfectlly broadside.
We stayed an extra night in Joberg so we could go to the lion park. My wife wanted to hold and pet the lion cubs it was the highlight of the trip FOR HER.
