well I think I'm off to my first pig hunt this weekend. If everything is a go my guide will be Mike Berry. Any comments on this guide? I'll fill everyone in on the details when I get back on sunday.
Colby I hunted on the Tejon Ranch near Bakersfield. That was a good hunt. I dont know your guide. Does he work for someone or himself? How much is the hunt? Are you looking for a meat pig or a trophy animal? Thanx Fubar
I live in bakersfield.I know who he is.I don't know much about him though.I've talked to him at the gun show before though.If he's the same guy I'm thinking about?They farm those hogs.They're opened for hunting I think june through august.If it's the same guy that is.He guide's for bear /sheep & some other things too.He was charging $325.00 when I talked to him last year.Anyways call the archery shop here they know him.Or call the gun shops here & ask them they can probably let you know something

I'm not sure, I think he works for himself. I think I want to go for a meat pig, the only reason being is that I'm moving to coalinga to go to college in about a month and I figured that could put a couple of dinners on the table and save me some money rather than getting a trophy animal that doesn't taste as good. The hunt itself is a two day hunt that costs $350. I was originally going to go on a hunt with a guide out of king city but my friend set this whole thing up and said for the price and for what I wanted to shoot this was probably the best deal. The guy in king city was $400 plus an additional $200 for a trophy. I'll fill everyone in on the details when I get back. Thanks for the info.
