One of the greatest things about this website is for newbies like me to draw from the knowledge of more experienced hunters... with that having been said my question is this.
Is one better off pig hunting any given area a few weeks after regular deer season from all the hunting pressure? I'm wondering if everyone out in force sends them into deeper hiding or whatever, as if pigs aren't elusive enough already. Thanks for the info. again in advance! Love this site!

Welcome to JHO!

Pressure will push the hogs, no doubt about it. If there are a lot of hunters, it's a shoe-in that the hogs will be hard to find. If you're deer hunting, go prepared but not too hopeful. If you get away from the crowds, that's where you'll find the deer and the hogs.

You may help your odds a little by waiting until deer season is over, but from my perspective, there's a ton to be gained by getting out there anyway. The more time you spend hunting public land, the better your odds of success.

Carry a tag for both if your hunting a zone that has both. You may get lucky and tag both a deer & pig.. Good luck and welcome to the best hunting web site on the internet.

Bird in the hand...
I always try to have both tags, and if it flys it dies.

Hmm, I guess you must live in one of those "dry" counties.

Nope we aren't a dry county, in OK there aren't any dry counties, but they have said we are the METH capital of the US, so for some hunters things are flying.

Well, you know that "they" don't really have a clue about a lot of stuff. No seriously, Oklahoma used to have a huge meth problem (and still do) but it has decreased substantially since they passed legislation that limits the purchase of the meds used to cook it.
