Tejon Ranch could of have not planned a better weaken for the hog hunt. A beautiful full moon!. I saw lots of hogs but they were all on the South side of the ranch unfortunately. Our group hunts very hard. This is the 3rd time I hunted the North side of the ranch. Very dry up there this year because of no rain. The hunting was very tough. I know the weather and the moon had a little to do with the hunting. I am also sure these hogs have been pressured a lot. They have diffidently change there normal routine. We did mange to get on a few but my friend missed his opportunity on getting his hog. He missed. These hogs were located in the deepest, ugliest canyon you could find. They are down there for one reason. Because of being pressured. I saw very few piglets. I know it is still early for the hogs to have babies but I am sure the drought has something to do with them having babies. I did manage to see a nice bore, he probably weighed about 260 lbs. He was on the move. I just did't even have enough time to shoulder my gun. He was gone. Still a fun trip. I am little disappointed in Tejon Ranch. They have not managed the hog hunts very well. It surly is not how the hunting was before. They have over hunted the ranch. Only 11 hogs were taken when I last checked Sunday morning. Not good. I am not sure how many hunters were there but it looked like at least 50 or less. Still a great weaken with good friends. This is the first time out of 10 years in hunting the Pig O Rama that someone in our group did not get a hog. I guess thats hunting.

I did see the ugliest bird in my life while hunting Tejon Ranch. This was one dumb bird, a California Condor. The dumb bird just wanted to hang out with me. He came up to me and just hung around for a while. I guess he was scared of being eaten. There was a redtail hawk eyeballing him. No wonder these birds should be extinct. He won't last long in the wild.

sorry to hear about the tuff hunting. I was glad to read that you still had a fun time with friends. Even a bad day hunting or fishing is much better than any kind of day at work. Best of luck to you on your next hunt.

nice pic. I think some people have never seen these big birds and there for wonder if they are even out there. The Lt. Col told me he had a few hanging out up in the valley and even thinks one got a squirrel out of the horse water. He said he knew one had drowned in the water tank. He was going to fish it out after lunch and wen he went back it was gone. lol Guess even condors like a free meal.

i feel bad for all those who went on this hunt!!!! i know its called hunting.. but....u were set up for failure from start!!!! kinda like takin your kid to a trout pond with 100 other kids and they only let 5 fish into it!!!!
i have access to it 10 months of the year but i still think this was shitty...
and in case u have t thought about it... they made $40000....thats some seriously expensive meat!!! lets say that average pig was 200lbs, yields 40lbs meat thats $90 a pound... what a way to end the PIG O RAMA'S...
sorry again guys...

Yeah, lots of hunters in a small pond with few fish for sure!

By the way, how did you come up to $90/lb? I got $500/200 = $2.5/lb. Or were you talking about the whole thing? Regardless, putting up $500 for a 13% chance of success is a hard sell. They also talked about how the drought will affect the seasons to come (little - no food for the next generation to grow up on). I am not sure how I feel about going out again... Though it was great to see all that wildlife!

Ya hunting was tough, there are hogs there and I saw them. Full moon did not help either. The hogs are pressured there is no doubt about that. I would like to hunt the south side but at $ 14,000 it not happening for me. It is really sad how they managed the hog hunt now. When the pig o rama first started it was a great thing. Most people on the hunts took hogs. One thing for sure over hunting has made it a lot tougher to find the hogs. There is no doubt that there are less hogs than there was last year. Still at that I did see more hogs that I would on public land, still not a cheap price for hunting. The hogs are there, I know I could of taken a hog if I had a few more days but that was not going to happen. Sad times for Tejon Ranch
