Hello all, I have come to regard Jesses as the go-to place for advice. Everyone here has been helpful with questions. After some fun but fruitless public land hunts, I am starting to give in to the idea of a paid guided hunt. My last one was 2 years ago and the freezer is empty. Most hunts are charging $500.00 and up, but I ran across Pig Point Ranch in Lakeport/Ukiah area. They are asking $350.00 for a one day guided hunt. I will be calling next week for more info, but in the meantime, I thought I would ask the fellas here and see if anyone has used them or heard of them good or bad. Any info would help me in my decision. Thanks, Bob.

A friend and I hunted with them when they first opened. They have some fenced in hogs. You try to find a hogs that might be hanging around the enclosure and if all else fails, you go in the enclosure and get your pig. I didn't want to do it but my buddy was dead set on it. Won't do it again.
My dad, brother, and myself hunted this ranch earlier this year. This guide has a pinned-up sow in which, when in heat, would attract boars. As the morning started, my dad and brother was asked to stalk at certain points around the huge fenced area. I was taken to go check out the pinned sow. As the guide and I got up to the sow, we saw a big tan hump of a boar staring at the sow. I took aim, and after three shots
, dropped him. meanwhile, my dad and brother had no luck around the perimeter, so they entered the fenced area. My brother got his pig about 20 min after being inside whild my dad still didn't have any luck. It wasn't until after lunch when my dad went back into the fenced area and got his. All in all, it wasn't too bad of a day, although I expected much more than what was presented. It's a very small area to really call it a "hunt" as the majority of hunts are concentrated in the fenced area. I was looking for a hunt on a wide open area, or a huge property where you roam around glassing for pigs. When we went, the price was only $300 and it seems like it's been bumped up $50. I think for this price, I would add a little more money and go somewhere else where I would probably have a much better experience. I came here for advice on a guided hunt as well and the info was right on. I ended up going twice with Camp Five Outfitters, costly but well worth it to me for a real hunt, no fences, fair chase. We worked for our hogs but they were worth it. This place you describe may be half the price but it sounds like one tenth the hunt, and I use the word hunt loosely.
