My buddy wants me to go with him on a hunt put on by Pig Point Ranch out of Lake County. Anybody ever hunt with these guys? They want $300.00 a pig which isn't too bad. The only thing that puzzled me is on their website they also sell hogs. So I am not sure if they plant meat hogs to hunt or is it the real deal.. Anyway if anybody has info on them I would appreciate it. Their website is www.pigpointranch.com

Thanks

I too am curious, the price is right and the photos of pigs taken look good. Think i'll email them and ask for references from past clients.

Mike used to have a big boar penned up at his small ranch in Upper Lake that he mated with domestic sows for piglets that he sells. The hunting ranch is private and is party of the Cow Mountain area of Lake County above and near Blue Lakes.I have never hunted with him but have heard that it is legit.

Placercounty,
Just talked with Mike Boyle of pigpoint ranch, Mike has some acreage next to BLM land between two large ranches. The area has plenty of pigs and they come around because of a penned sow he keeps between a pond and the pigs bedding areas. He also says because the area is so rugged that shots are usually between 20 and 40 yards. I asked if it was a put and take because he breeds for hunting clubs or ranches and he said not at all. The photos of the razorback on his websight are of his breeding stock. He also said the pigs hunted are feral crosses in colors most of us have seen in the field. For 300.00 i'll give it a try sometime in the future.

I've never hunted there, but a 95% success rate is hard to get with truly wild pigs. The pictures look good though.
