Plan on getting a S&W M&P15T

Anyone have opinions of the S&W M&P15T I really like it. What does everyone think. Give me the good the bad and the ugly reports on this rifle. Thanks Kurt

That is me posting above didn't realize my wife was logged and posted under her name. Anyway what does everyone think, my wife is pushing me to get this rifle real soon. Pretty cool wife.

I have no first hand experience with them, but just a couple items to check on...

1. Is it CA legal?
-30 round mag.
-I see no mention of a bullet button
2. I would rather have 1:7 or 1:8 twist with the short barrel and depending on ammo choice.


If you're LEO, I would still consider buying a CA legal rifle, just so you can pass it on to a son or sell it easier at a later date.

Unfortunately it is not Ca legal unless you have a letter to purchase.
You can buy a lower with the bullet button installed or DIY.
You can only get in a 16in barrel in 1:9 from the factory unless you buy the match grade model. I have my (LE Model) with the above set up with a RRA two stage trigger group.

Just have your kid go into LE to pass the rifle along :thumbs up2:

I love my M&P 15, I mostly shoot 65gr. Winchester ranger rounds and it shoots great through a aimpoint comp m2.

I have a buddy who is LE and was a little upset when he found out he can't give his colt to his son. He also doesn't want his son to be a cop, for obvious health reasons
