If u archery hunt u can go up to Lake Sonoma,no cost to u but u do have to go to the visitor center to register. There is no hunting on Mon. and Tue. 5th. and 6th. so u would have to reg. on the 7th.All the info is posted in the hog hunting forum in a pinned thread.Good luck if u go.

Lake Sonoma is about an hour or so from Petaluma ( I happen to live there). You will have to stop at the visitor center to register to hunt and get your permit. Archery only...about a four per cent success rate for archers is the average. I just went up there last week and registered my wife...hunter number 381. We were up there on a wednesday and there were 21 hunters there. With the dates you mention you can hunt on the 7th and 8th after registering on the 7th. Office opens at 0830. If you get off at noon, have your act together and get up there by about 12:45 or 1pm ( I just did that the other day....left work from Santa Rosa at noon, came down to Petaluma to pick up the wife, and back up to the Lake and out hunting by 2:30). Take the Dry Creek Exit in Healdsburg which will take you by the corner store at Lambert Bridge Road and Dry Creek Road (BTW, there is a corner bar there too for when you are done and heading home). You can pick up lunch and drinks there. Follow Dry Creek Road out to the Lake. Register and go hunt. Yes there are pigs. Yes the place is hammered by hunter pressure. Yes, you could see pigs around dusk. Bring light and batteries. Should be a good moon phase by then too.
