To wire the board to the camera i use the 5 prong attachment correct? I use the first three the shutter, ground, and refresh or external light correct? The other 2 wires will be unused correct (power on/off and 2nd ground)?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you use the 5 pronged plug but you use 1(shutter), 2(Ground), and 4(Power ON/OFF). #3 and #5 are not used and you can just pull them out of the plug.

You see with this setup you start the camera in the OFF condition. The PIR event will trigger a connection between the Power ON/OFF and the Ground which will turn the camera ON. The a connection between the Shutter and Ground will trigger the picture to be taken. And, finally another connection between the Power On/OFF and the Ground will turn it back OFF. This sequence saves on batteries as the camera is only ON during the picture taking event.
