Let's see what y'all use in you neck of the woods. ........In California ,most use you'r typical bolt gun in a flat shootin' round,
<
but I think I'm gonna stray from that next year and use a wheel gun in .44 or a Marlin lever action . :recall davis sign:

Model 70 XTR Sporter, .30-'06 Springfield, Fed Classic 150 gr. or W-W 150 gr. PP.

Next might be a Czech 98/22 with S&B 8mm SP.

Savage 110 in 30-06. Was shooting 165gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, but switched just now to 180 gr. Nosler Partitions. The Ballistic Tips are too destructive for my tastes. I haven't shot a pig with the Partitions yet, but they sure do a great job at the range.

Also carry a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag, shooting handloaded Hornady XTPs. I am not a great handgunner, and not real accurate with it yet, so I stick to the -06 for my initial shot, but I'm confident in the capability of the gun and loads. Just gotta get where I can consistently hit the killzone out to 50+ yards before I start leaving the rifle in the truck.

Winchester stainless classic in 300 mag, shooting 180gr partitions will nock their ,you know what, in the dirt! Shot a couple with a 243 shooting 100gr partitions. Just picked up a Marlin 30-30 that I can't wait to use, shoots pretty good out to about 100 yards.

Hey Bishop, Awsome 454!!

two rifles:

Winchester "Trapper" in .45 Colt.
+P load with a Hornady 250 gr XTP hollow point.

recently acquired a Winchester BigBore94 in .375 Win. Lots of options:
-- standard factory load 200 gr.
-- loads using a Sierra ProHunter 200 gr.
-- loads using a Hornady 220 gr.
-- and this rifle also shoots .38-55 Win !!

Cheers,

Carl

First 14 hogs; Winchester M70 30-06 with 165 Gr. Nosler Partitions pushed by 57 grains (2880 FPS) of IMR 4350. Leoupold Varix III 3x9 scope (and Speck, you're gunna totally love the results from those partitions that shoot well for you at the range, you'll see. Great bullets for shock, penetration and bone busting).

The next hog will be greeted by my T/C Omega .50 cal muzzleloader, 295gr. Powerbelt Aerotips with 110 Grains of Hodgkins ffG 777 powder (loose).

Boy! I can not decide what to get! A Ruger .44 Mag Super Blackhawk or a Marlin 45-70 Guide gun. I litterally wake in the morning and 'am set on the Ruger. By mid day I'm convinced that the guide gun is a better choice. Next day the viciouse circle starts over again. SAVE ME FROM THIS HELL!
