I went to the range the other day with the '06 and my 10/22 and I am sick of shooting of these damn unstable blocks of wood that don't give me a good zero so I am thinking about getting some kind of rest for the range. I was thinking about the MTM red predator shooting rest. http://www.mtmcase-gard.com/products/shooting/pred.html Do any of you shoot off one? I am hoping that is will work with my '06. I am a poor man so I am looking for something that is cheap and better han wood blocks. Any reviews or comments on the predator rest will be a great help. Any other rests you would recomend?

Post script:
I am trying to sight in my guns for hunting so I do not need super accuracy. With sand bags I can shoot 3/4 inch groups @ 100 with the '06 so I am hoping for that.

A friend of mine has that and it sets just too high for me. He loves it.
I've been shopping for something more like this.

rifle rest

I don't know if sturdy counts much once recoil has set in but I have shot 7.62x54R off of it and it worked well. That's in the 30-06 class of cartridges. This isn't a bench rest rig but for working up loads and sighting in it works very well indeed. Oh! And yes, the S&W .44 Special was a revolver. ~AMMOe

Sorry I really didn't mean sturdy...I meant will it hold up, not break, not rattle loose, ect. when a big bore goes off. Sorry my fault, should have used a better word(s).... so have you had any strength issue like I mentioned above or breaking problems? Thanks Again and for all your help!!!!
