From the ODFW waterfowl guy:

Regular Goose seasons – There are several significant change proposals this year. Seasons and bag limits not mentioned are proposed to be similar to last year.
· Allow white goose (Snow and Ross) goose hunting in the Eastside, Westside, and Oak Island Units of Sauvie Island Wildlife Area. All other geese remain closed to hunting on the wildlife area. All NW Permit Zone regulations would apply and season will only be open during wildlife area hunt days during the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] periods of the NW Permit Zone goose season. The season will close if one dusky Canada goose is taken on the wildlife area.
· Separate bag limits for dark geese into separate bag limits for Canada and white-fronted geese.

[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]This means the term “dark geese” will no longer apply to goose seasons.
[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]General bag limits would remain at 4 for Canada geese in most areas and the bag limit for white-fronted geese would be set at 6 in most areas.

· Separate seasons for white-fronts and Canada geese in Malheur County. Canada goose season would remain identical to Lake and Harney counties but white-front season would run concurrent with white goose season.
· Shorten the split during the Canada goose season in Klamath County so that the season is identical to Lake and Harney Counties.
· Restructure the white-fronted and white goose seasons in Malheur and Klamath Counties into a two period, concurrent season running from October 5[SUP]th[/SUP] – December 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and January 23[SUP]rd[/SUP] – March 10.
· Increase the daily bag limit for white geese in Malheur County to 20 per day.

· Relax the public lands and waters goose hunting closure in Klamath County during the late goose season time frame. All areas normally open to goose hunting would be open during the late-season except the Miller Island Unit of the Klamath Wildlife Area and all USFWS National Wildlife Refuge lands.

Wildlife Area hunt program change proposals
· Require hunter check-in and check-out (via self service permit) at Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area.
· At Summer Lake the portion of the Bullgate Refuge that has been open to hunting for the last several years will transfer back to refuge status. However, wetland restoration activities will be occurring in the Bullgate Refuge during the season and will remain dry at least through November. Restoration activities in the Between-the-Dikes Unit have been completed.
