I have a Burris 2x7 mounted "scout" style on my Ruger Frontier in .308. I fired 12 rounds through the gun and these "specs" apeard. I sent the scope off to Burris to get it fixed. They fixed it, sent it back, but after only 8 rounds the same thing happened.

This is my 1st experience w/their product, it came highly recomended, but is this common w/their products?

Essmanfam2, I have had a few of the Burris an have not had an issue with them. They are fine for a lower priced scope, but sounds like you might just have gotten a bad one. The bigger concern is that you sent it to them and they sent it back only to have a repeat of the same problem. I definitely would let them know. But I work in Quality Assurance and can understand how every once in awhile one gets by.

BigSwad, oh I'll let them know about it. But this was no cheap scope. I spent over $300 for a 2x7. I realize it's not a Swarvosky, but it's still $300 bones.

Essmanfam2: I have a Ruger Frontier .308 as well and I love it, but I have a regular scope mounted right now. I wanted to know how does it work with the scope mounted op front? Is it hard to get used to? Your the first person I know that has one, and have been wondering how long it takes to get used to using it as a "Scout" Rifle. Thanks

Fishpro, I LOVE IT!!!! It doesn't take any time at all really to get used to it. The only real difference I know of, is that, because of the magnification difference from a pistol scope, it's not as precise as a standard mounted rifle scope. But for what I do, it's perfect.

I'm taking is deer/bear hunting tese next few weeks, so hopefully I'll really be able to tell you how much I love it!!

I just got my rifle at the 1st of the year. All my buddies laugh at me cause they say it looks like a .22lr. But I dont care cause I really love it and as long as it shoots and handles good then thats all I need. It is so easy to handle, and to get in position really quick. I am hoping to get my first deer with it, this year. I am thinking about free floating the barrel to see if it will help improve accuracy a little. Not that it has bad accuracy but anything to help me out will be good for me. Like I said I dont know anyone else that has one so I cant compare mine to anyones. I have been shooting 150gr federals and getting around 1 1/2" groups of 5 @ 100 yards. How about you? Well good luck out there and break it in......

I had the stock glass bedded and the trigger worked over to about 3.5lbs. The rifle is capable of way more than I am. I am shooting 180gr. Federals, because of my hopes for a bear, and get 3 shot groups under 1" @100, as long as I do my part, that is. Godd luck... Where are you located?? I'm in Bakersfield CA.

Yeah i live in Bakersfield too. Do u ever get out to 5 dogs range? I go out there a couple of times a month. It would be cool to meet up out there if u go out there. I met a guy with a cronograph out at 5 dogs, and he crono'd my Ruger and it was only about 150fps slower than what was on the box. I mostly hunt and shoot by by myself cause I dont know allot of people that like to shoot or hunt. So I dont know much about tricking out a rifle. Where or how would I go about getting it glass bedded? I was just at 5 dogs yesterday putting lead through my Ruger. Anyways heres my email Jedifish@sbcglobal.net , if u know somewhere we can meet one day so I can check out your rifle, that would be cool. I am also gonna hunt d8 and probably will hunt d9 a little, but will be up in D8 mostly around Greenhorn and rancheria Rd. Talk to u later.
