I finally got to Radio Shack and bought a soldering iron, but i am not sure if i got the right one.  I got the 25-watt soldering iron with rosin-core solder.  Am i on the right track??

The one I use is Cat. No. 64-2051B from radio shack it is a 15 watt.  The number is right on the handle of the iron...

I used a 25 watt on my camera and am using it on my timer also. You just to have to be carefull not to get the parts to hot that you are soldering. On and off that quick. It also helps to put a good point on the iron and don't forget to tin the tip. I am addicted to this now, does anybody know of a dry out center, I can't put the iron down.

I use the same iron as Bowfever and getting good results.  The key for me has been to use small (.03)diameter solder.  I started using .062 and ruined my first board.  Best of luck.  Lew
