I hunted the whole weekend and saw legal pigs both days. I got a shot at one on Saturday. It was 4 in the afternoon and I was just sitting near a good trail. Suddenly a pig comes into view, running my way. As it goes behind a tree I get up, nock up, and draw. I shoot at the trotting pig and the arrow goes high. My lead on it was good, not the elevation. I was shooting a steep downhill, about 35 yards.
I saw a boar Sunday that had an arrow in its shoulder. It favored its left front leg. He was in the vineyard near Liberty. The arrow might have been a bolt.
A buddy in our party got a small one, near the road on Skaggs.
Can't wait to head back.

You had better luck than me. I hunted Saturday, but the only pigs I saw were about 100 yards off the road on private property. I did however hunt two places I had never been to before where there were only a few hunters. I was told that there were way too many hunters all over rockpile road.

I hunted sunday, had a dog off leash spook two hogs that were bedded down as I was stalking within range. Saw one other pig, but didnt have a shot.

Been hunting all week since opening day. Drove up from LA so I sorta have to make it worth it :D.

Sunday was circled by a couple different groups of good looking pigs. Finally committed to one and dropped everything except my recurve and crawled through the growth. Got within a 7-10 yards but didn't have enough room to pull back and break through the growth. Sat with my face in the mud for a while just enjoying the commotion.

Finally got around to making another move when a pig walked towards me, squealed and spoked deeper into the growth.

Might take the day off tomorrow and wait for them to come back onto the other side of the fence.
Have had a lot of fun exploring the lands, watching the coyots, turkey, quail, deer, trying to spot the said lion's.

I'm in a yellow FJ, holler at me if you see me!

Sounds amazing! How's the water level of the lake? It was very low last winter.

Water is super low man. It's almost embarrassing. I've found some cool stuff on the lake bed though! Lots of trash too :/.

I hunted most of yesterday. Hiked in 4+ miles deep. On way back I stopped at one of the primitive camping grounds to take a break. Not two minutes after I got back on the trail I heard a group of pigs making a ton of noise maybe 200-300 yards away. Couple times it sounded as though one got shot, but the noise never completely stopped so I knew that was not the case. I hung out for a while and they never showed up so I left my gear and tried to sneak in on them without all the extra weight. Just my bow. Ran into another hunter who had been following them. We split up yet didn't see them. They kept making lots of noise. At one point the squeels almost sounded like an elk bugle. I never saw any pigs so I left as it was starting to get late in the afternoon and I had not planned on staying that long. Never saw the other hunter again so not sure how he made out. Pretty exciting. Need to go back for more.

Went up there again today. Just before I left I ran into the hunter I had met last Thursday. Just minutes after I had left that day he finally saw the pigs we had heard making all the noise. Said the group was pretty large and all the crazy noises were cause the boars were humping the sows. He told me he got an old boar about 285lbs. He retrieved it the day after and said the group was still in the area then.
No pigs today, but a whole lot of water. What used to be easy to cross streams are no longer.
