I am looking to purchase a Remington R-15 VTR in .223 and was wondering if this gun is legal for sale in CA, or is it considered an "Assault weapon" ??

Would like to clear this up so I know if I can own one of these guns.

Thank you

I am trying to buy online (and shipped to CA) a Remington "Byron South" .223 R-15 Predator Rifle. There is much negative info out there. I think the guy in AZ is the answer. Thanks.

Remington R15...I love it

I got mine and sighted it in last weekend. I love it. Topped with Nikon Coyote Special 4.5-14x40. Shoot sub 1" groups with every ammo I tried, really likes Black Hills, Reman 60 Gr V-Max.(blue box) Some will say sub 1" groups are not good enough.....with a BDC ring rather than a crosshair, I am happy with sub 1". The BDC rings really help re-aquiring the target for fast followup shots.

The only thing I dislike, If I had to pick something is that even with the high mount scope rings, the scope is too low. I am adding a quick release scope mount beneath the rings this weekend to raise the scope another 3/4".

That is a nice lookin piece you got there!! Congrats.. I love my rifle too. I do have to agree with you on the raising of the rings though.. What rings do you have on yours now? Are they the Remington scope rings? Either way, very nice rifle, perfect yote taker outer!! Hopefully we will post some pics of down dogs!
Good luck and HH..
