When I visit my in-laws in Trinidad, the question is always the same, "How the hell can you stand to live in Calif?" On the other hand, I tried to buy some property in the Stonewall area years ago. When the land owner found out that the only people interested in the purchase, were from either Calif. or Texas, he gave the land the community conservativece. (spelling)
