I'm excited to try building my first camera. I want to use a 10vdc battery from my Motorola MT100. What reed relay should I use. I've ordered the 12vdc. All I could find from RC was eithher 9vdc or 12dc, nothing at 10vdc.

I think you can use the 9V relay.  The 12v will not work because the battery will not have the volts to close the relay.  The 1V increase should not burn the relay up.  I believe I am correct.  You guys correct me if I am wrong.  Also, you could put a few resistors between the battery and the 9v relay to reduce the voltage to 9 volts.

I'd use a 9V relay with no resistors.  The 12V relay may not always pick up, especially as your 10V battery gets weaker.
