If you have a muzzle loader - bring it. If you don't, borrow or buy one. One of the biggest factors for success with FHL elk is being able to hunt the areas where the elk are. Often times, military training in adjacent areas will cause the base to limit access to some of the prime areas to muzzle loader or archery only. Being able to hunt those areas will give you lots more options than rifle only hunters.
