RGS to Hold Fun Hunt and Field Trial in Gap MillsThe Highland Drummer Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) will hold its second annual Stoneybrook Invitational Fun Hunt/Field Trial on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Stoneybrook Plantation, Gap Mills, West Virginia, beginning at 8 a.m.

Stoneybrook Plantation is located about 60 miles NW of Ronoake, VA.

According to Todd Spencer, the event consists of two divisions in three classes -- Open Class for dogs over 16 months, Puppy Class for dogs under 16 months (bring proof of age), and Youth Class open to hunters under 16. The objective of the trial is for each team to harvest as many chukar partridge as quickly as possible within the allotted 15 minute time frame, using the least number of shells. A minimum of 3 birds are planted for each team; the course will contain a minimum of 5 birds per team.

Registration is $60 per team, which includes one raffle ticket on a Browning BPS 20 gauge. The gun will be raffled off on the day of the event.
