Wow, I'd venture to say that if he was held overnight, he's injuries were significant. Sounds like one lucky hunter.

Bear's carry many forms of bacteria in their mouths, which is why he was probably kept overnight to thoroughly clean the wound and make sure no infections would set in.

I gave a response on the Elk forum about the increase in grizzlies within the Wyoming areas I hunt. It appears the guides are seeing more grizzlies and wolves this year than in past.
